Description
One of the major canonico-liturgical works of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church. As with other works of the same genre, the purpose of the T.D. is to establish upon the basis of a pseudo-epigraphical authority – in this case, Jesus Christ in person – rules and prescriptions for the right organization of the Church and Christian practice. The T.D. consists of 60 chapters and is clearly subdivided into two parts. Chapter 22 circulates independently as , chapter 37 as . The text of is also part of T.D.
