Description
General record of the Universal Chronicle by , to be used, when the specific recension is not known. The chronicle was translated twice from Arabic into Gǝʿǝz. The first translation, according to a colophon in the text, took place in the time of and resulted in the α-recension of the work, which contains only the pre-Islamic part. The second translation took place in the time of and and corresponds to the β-recension of the Tārika Walda ʾAmid.
