Description
This hymn is ascribed to John Chrysostom. The hymn begins with ተፈሥሒ፡ ኦእግዝእትነ፡ ማርያም፡, which is repeated after each stanza. In most manuscripts, it occurs in a longer version, where the hymn is preceded by a preamble varying in structure and length, beginning with እሰግድ፡ ለኪ፡ ወእዌድሰኪ፡ ኦእግዝእትየ፡ ማርያም፡.
