Description
ʾAragāwi manfasāwi, "the spritual elder" is in Ethiopian tradition both the name of the author John Saba and of his anthology of homilies and letters, which was translated from Syriac to Arabic and from Arabic to Gǝʿǝz.The anthology contains in Syriac 25-28 homilies, 48-51 letters and 3-8 homilies under the title "Chapters on Knowledge". The Arabic and Gǝʿǝz version have 30 homilies, 48 letters and 3 "Chapters on Knowledge" and as a preface or epilogue a letter from to another monk and the latter's answer. 434-436
