Description

The synaxarion, Sǝnkǝssār in Ethiopia, is a liturgical work containing commemorative notices of persons, events or feasts for each day of the year. The Ethiopic Sǝnkǝssār war translated from the Copto-Arabic synaxarion at least twice ( and ), each translation depending on a different Arabic Vorlage. The translation was extensively revised in Ethiopia, both regarding content and language ().
