Description

This document, part of the document number 6 in Carlo Conti Rossini's edition, part I of CCR 6 according to Alessandro Bausi's system of reference. While there are reasons to consider part I and part II of CCR 6 according to Bausi's system of reference as two parts of one document, here they are treated as two documents on the basis f codicoloical disposition and mise en texte. Note that CCR 6 parte II can be found only in Conti Rossini's edition, being not seen neither by Schneider nor by Bausi. In this document King Lālibalā's assignes certain lands as gʷǝlts to the monastery the church of Masqal, which seems to be rightly identified as the church of ʿUrā Masqal. The date noted in the manuscript is 1089 year of Mercy, on which various interpretation were proposed. The document is attested only once on the recto, on the last image of the text, taken by Bausi in 1993. According to Schneider's description, what follows on folio verso is the beginning of the list of Gospel of Mathew. The writing is palaegraphically datable to the fourteenth century, seems to be similar or the sams as of CCR 14.
